Interesting to note that when "Yesterday" appears on the charts, it is credited to Paul McCartney, whereas "Help" is credited to The Beatles!

What's really amazing is the variety of musical styles represented in the "Boss 30" of 1965. All classified as "Popular Music" - which it was. Can you imagine this happening now?

The mid '60's was a transitional period in pop music. Radio stations were still balancing 'middle of the road' artists with more contemporary artists. By 1967 the genre along the lines of Andy Williams had all but disappeared on pop radio in major markets, but others still prevailed, including what many would even call 'country' acts today. At the first station I worked for in '69 it wasn't unusual to go from something like Ray Coniff to Santana.
But you are right, you'll likely never hear anything like that today or ever again.
