A Clapton fan, Kira?
Re: Latest Clapton news
Oh, sure, Jerry, I've been a mild fan since way back. They send me these updates from his fan site and I know there are a few real enthusiasts here, so I put them up.
It's fun to read the comments.

Re: Latest Clapton news
I've seen him twice. Once opening for Elton John at Dodger stadium, early '00's IIRC They headlined alternating nights!. It was a massive greatest hits night from both of them, total pleasure for me.
I saw him a few years later when he was promoting the Blues CD, just killing every blues tune that he and his band tore into. Freakin' awesome seeing him (play) in his element.
And has anyone ever recorded a fiercer solo than the live Cross Roads by Cream?
Man, I used to stare are the Disraeli Gears album cover thinking "These guys are COOL!"

Crossroads is the pinnacle of blues-rock guitar solos.

Re: Latest Clapton news
You should have seen him play Crossroads live back in the day....................he was unreal. Jack and Ginger were unbelievable too. One of the best bands ever IMO.

Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.

Thanks Mark,
That was a great read. I always wondered why Eric played Blue Moon for the solo. It was an intriguing choice but it fit perfectly.

Re: Latest Clapton news
Very cool indeed. Love to hear about recording setups.
And I'm totally surprised Cream was a "pre-fab" group. I never knew!
