Boss CS-3 Compression Sustainer

Post by JakeK »

Yesterday, I thought I should try hunting for a better compressor than my Dano Surf and Turf for my new 360/12V64. I went to the local music shop and got a deal on a Boss CS-3 Compression Sustainer. I went home, hooked it to the Deluxe Reverb and ran the 1997SPC through it. I was AMAZED at the results. Then I took it up a notch and ran TWO compressors (the CS-3 and the Dano) and got some really sweet sounding stuff, but also a lot of terrible feedback when not playing.

All in all, I like the Boss, and think the V64 will sound sweet through it when it arrives!

Did you try an MXR Dynacomp? Less dough, true bypass. I was never a fan of the super squishy CS-3, but if I played chicken picken country licks, it would be at the top of my list.
I'm surprised you didn't save up for a Janglebox there Jake, talk about "amazed" with a Rick.
