Yeah you mean that yellowish colour it turns to when it's getting older? I love that! It has this vintage way of looking cool! Absolutely amazing!MiroN wrote:I can say when you buy a white one, you actually get 2 colors over the years!

'88's play well, with a nice thin neck. Not nearly as thin as an early 73, but still really good.

Re: Rickenbacker 88' 4003
My July '88 4003 has a neck that is smaller in girth than my July '73 4001. Not sure about the front to back thickness. Anywho...I think you pretty much can't go wrong with an '88 unless that 5 screw tail starts to lift. But adding the extra two screws isn't a big deal and will look right at home, especially on an '88.jdogric12aolcom wrote:'88's play well, with a nice thin neck. It should have a strong, small, adjustable neck; nice, strong, full-sounding, clear pickups; and no 1970's transistor radio-sounding bass-cut capacitor to annoy you. You done good!
Congrats!!

My old 88 4003S JG (now in the capable hands of "Ben Brown") had a 7-screw tp.
