At the Galaxie back in '04 ? That's right down the street from you, where I saw them. Great show.

I can't help but wonder about the origin of the group's name. What's that....dress sizes?

haha, good guess, but no!

If that was true, they would be the 00, 0, 1, 2, 2.5's

I think they're named after the infamous "count off" into songs...." And a 5, 6, 7, 8....."

According to this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_5.6.7.8%27s

They named themselves that because they play music reminiscent of 1950s, '60s, '70s, and '80s rock.
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Yes Collin, exactly.

The Galaxy is open again, although I haven't been there since it re-opened. They usually get some pretty good shows and it is close to my house.

Last band I saw there was Echo and the Bunnymen.

Yeah, I know about Wikipedia and the rest of what you get off the internet, that's why I added the link. I have no idea if it's true, just one point of reference.

Cool band though!

Nice! We were probably at the same show, I don't think they've played there too much.

Yeah, great band! Not too serious, just kidsy enough that they're fun.

Now you've done it..... I'm going to have to watch KB I&2 all over again.... GREAT movie!!!!
.... and of course record my own version of "Woo Hoo"

Lets see.... simple repetitive songs.... no great instrument ability.... singing slightly off key.....
But they have charisma and look good and are VERY entertaining! Just goes to show.

and in the same vien
