Ric 330 finish question

I'm a Ric newbie and have a question before making my purchase. I've decided on a 330, but can't decide which finish. It's narrowed down to Jetglo or Mapleglo. I've heard horror stories about the Jetglo finish and "spiderwebs", swirls, scratches, etc.

Why cover up potentially beautiful maple?
How difficult is it to keep Jetglo looking new?

For an everyday guitar, and one that I'll be using until I can afford another one...Which finish do you recommend?

Mapleglo. I used to gig regularly with a 330 JG and got sweat smudged even with wiping it down after use. Later had a 360 Mapleglo and no such problem.
