The RW concept isn't for me but if I could snag one for a nice price such as you have I would definitely think differently. Congratulations, I hope it serves you well. :)

Jushua already took the words out of my mouth. Can't go wrong for the price, and it fits well with your others. Have lots of fun with it! :)

Nah, not with me. It's only the grossly overpriced ones that get my goat. As a standard finish option it's just a matter of personal preference. This one looks pretty decent to me, even though I'm not really sold on the concept. I'll bet it looks cool on stage. 8)

Still, I gotta say you're a brave man, Mitch.

I couldn't have said it better myself, Kira. No Pandora's Box here.

I'm against fake relics on principle, and the higher the price and heavier the hype, well, you know...

Looks like you're gonna have a lot of fun with this one, Mitch---go for it!

Isn't that pretty much what all guitars look like after they've hung in a GC for a couple of weeks?

Congrats man, that's a great score. I played one of those for about an hour at GC a month or so back. Really liked it, but couldn't convince myself to got the $954 price. At that price, you really got a nice guitar.

no kidding! A close friend of mine is the El Toro Guitar Center operations manager and he has shown me all kinds of stuff that kids break. It's pretty sad.....like a hall-of-shame of broken guitars. Luckily, most kids don't have expensive taste, and there were some broken Epiphones etc there (though nothing worth picking up/fixing!).

I've said a number of times, the New Orleans GC is a mess. It's (not only) bad atmosphere that will immediately put you in a bad mood, but you'll find guitars that are terribly out of tune, have missing strings and knobs, etc.

The kids are awful, too. I wore a Who shirt the one and only time I've ever been there, and a metal head walked in, shot me the finger, rolled his eyes into the back of his head and bass growled "METAL!!!"

On the other hand, great score, Mitch! Hope you like it!

Mitch, you got a great deal!

I played one of these in the Fountain Valley Guitar Center and thought it played great, but at $949 plus tax, I thought it was a bit over-priced. The GC Salesman kept trying to sell me on "it's like a Custom Shop guitar for under a grand".

I told him it wasn't a Custom Shop guitar, it was a made in Mexico Tele, and I could get a brand new one with no scrapes or dings for about $500 right there in his shop. :?

Bottom line though is that I did like the guitar and loved the way it played. If it was at the price you paid for yours I probably would have bought it.

I'll wait for a used one too, who can tell anyway!
