OUCH, man that's terrible!

When I used to play alot, folks would laugh at me for bringing my 4001 into establishments that band was eating or partying at after the gig. Would be between me and the wall at IHOP.

Man I really hope you find it!!!

Jake: It is hard to lose a treasure. With all of us looking online let's hope we come up with it.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

are the innards crushed? SVTs are a little cramped for sure but they have a lot of structure to them.

Thanks for all your support guys, I'm not trying to get a bunch of attention here for pity or anything, just trying to let people know to watch out for a Stolen Ric and I really appreciate everyones support and keeping their eyes open. Hopefully those idiots turn in the bass to a pawn shop. I will keep you all updated about it.

I think we all know that. But it's good for you to vent. And it's an excellent reminder for the rest of us that stuff like this does unfortunately still happen. Hopefully your posting of this will result in the prevention of similar incidents happening to others. And hopefully posting your story will help to recover it.

If you reported it stolen and the gear turns up in a pawn shop, you shouldn't HAVE to pay to recover. That's why it needs to be reported to the police and you need SNs documented. The way the cop explained it to us, the pawn shop is obligated to hand it over, regardless of the amount they paid out for the gear. It's turned over to the police and then the police return it to the owner.

I filled the report out this morning and I'm heading right up to the Police department right after work, hopefully the tweakers pawn it.

Really sorry to hear about your bass. Karma - that dastardly act will come back to haunt all of them  . Hopefully the Ampeg can be salvaged.

If you recover it,, and find the low-life's that stole it, I hope you burn them to the fullest extent of the law.

They have it coming to them.

A very tough one, Jake. Looks like you are doing all the right and best things to recover your baby. Also, that amp doesn't look all that bad. I bet a competent tech could look it over and get it back together and working without too much trouble. If you lived around here, I'd look it over for you, but Michigan is a ways off from Washington last time I looked.

Best of luck with the whole affair.

DON'T trust the cops to check all the pawn shops...and DON'T trust the shops to report it either...I've heard of chain shops getting stuff like that and shipping it to a store in another town before it ever hitting the floor just so they won't take a loss...YOU need to do it yourself!
