Wider Neck on 660-12?
As hard as I try, I can't get my hands to make the correct shapes for suspended chords on the 330-12. The neck is too narrow. Does the 660-12 have a wider neck?
Re: Wider Neck on 660-12?
Yep.
Think this is right: Width at the nut on a 330/12, 1.63, and on a 660/12, 1.75.

Ref earlier exchanges....
Having just picked up a 660-12 myself a short while ago, I am still getting used to the feel of the neck after years with my 360-12... in addition to the 660-12 neck being wider as previously noted, and the string pair placements providing a new fingering, I would say the 660's neck has slightly less "depth" or thickness at the centerpoint than the 300 series necks.
I guess I would decribe it as the 660 neck being more "D" shape/feel compared to the 300 series being more "U" shaped and feel....
Now I am developing one technique for playing Sus chords on the 660 series and a different way on the 300 series... vive la difference ! In addition to the neck, there is a tonal quality and resonance difference with the 660's solid body and small body mass compared to the much large body size and semi-hollow characteristics of the 300 sereies. And you gotta love the checkerboard binding on the 660-12

That's correct. Width at 12th fret on a 330/12 is 1.931", and on a 660/12, 2.107".Scastles wrote:Yep.

Ka is a wheel.

The 660's wider neck eases playing for fat fingered types like me--enough that my 370-12 RM is retired from active duty.
