They ARE Still Out There!

Post by kenposurf »

'75 Tele with case...Craig's List find last week. Asking price was $150..in the area but long drive out in the country. Very nice "well to do" fellow ..had the guitar from a trade 20+ years ago..owner got a zillion more emails after mine that could have caused the deal to "go south" but said $ were not the issue just needed to make room..I scraped up another $50 I had on me..handed over the $200 and thanked him......several times! Blonde with white guard..one pot and tuners were replaced otherwise stock..heavy as a Les Paul..nine pounds if it's an ounce...Twang 8)

Nice! Post some pics.

Those 70's Fenders were some heavy lumber. Super dense, which might be good for the plunky Tele sound.

Sweet score, kenposurf. Gotta love it and nine pounds at that! Man, didn't realize Teles could get that heavy! Props to you, brah....Goofyfoot.
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.

I'd be envious, too, except there's no way I could manage a nine-pound guitar for more than a chorus. :x Seven pounds seems to be the top of my comfort zone, and four or five is my goal. At nine I'm happy just to look.

Sweet!

Missed a 73 Strat in my backyard last week for $1000. On to it in less than half and hour, but it was already gone...
