Stacked pot question

Post by marc61 »

Could I take a stacked pot, and wire it volume/volume?

I have my reasons..just wondering if it would work.

Yes.
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Do you mean concentric-two seperate wiper controls on top of the stack, or one with a detent in the center of a single wiper control that effects one pot one way, and the other pot the other? (like a Fender TBX control)

Keep in mind, most stacked pots have different values-some fairly drastic, like the TBX. You can find some with the same value, or ones with a 250k and 500k value, which would work well for a single coil and humbucker volume control.

My LK is wired VVVT with two pots so I'd say "yes you can".

It's for my son's soon to be Jazzmaster...he only wants the one volume knob like on his hero's guitars. He doesn't want the rhythm circuit. I'm trying to encourage him to get the VV set up so he can at least have the variation of volume on the pickups.
