rickenbacker 620

Post by bobrock »

Never own it, always want it, finally get it. Am I an owner of rickenbacker 620 fg (serial I86067), 'cause I'm not familiar in telling what's orig. or fake, as I said it's my first (I guess) rickenbacker.

Any opinion, thanks

I don't see anything that doesn't look legit on the guitar. Most of the fakes are pretty easy to spot: spaghetti tailpiece instead of the R, no binding, wrong pickups, etc.. Enjoy! Looks really nice!

If it's fake, they did a really nice job of it, looks perfect!

Bob, congratulations on your Ric; I presume it sounds as good as it looks. The only thing I see wrong is that someone removed the "Made In USA" sticker from the pickguard and put on the back of the neck.

FWIW, I removed the stickers from all but one of my Rics.

What!? That's a really great looking fireglo on that thing. Show her this and let her think about "girls guitar" again:

The 620's lines are all fluid and inviting. Congratulations on your purchase and good taste.

I'm not sure that there's not a Freudian message on the face of that Daisy Rock. Has to be the sharpest, most aggressive-looking pickguard I've every seen.

How do you do this?

I know it seems like a simple question, but I've got sticker residue left on my pick guard and I'm not sure how to remove it without resorting to Goo Gone (which kinda scares me).

(This is my first Rick, and I've been switching out the knobs -- original for vintage, and back -- like one of my daughters trying clothes on a Polly Pocket. It's a disease, I tell you.)

A soft cloth dampened with a bit of naptha will remove the residue.
