The 1997 that Rod is referring to was actually an Irish export. It had a Matchetts Music Shop badge tacked into the back of the headstock. I do not remember that guitar being routed, but it did have a non-original pickup, tuners, and bridge at the very least. Still I liked it and I remember that I paid the princely sum of $900 for it.

I guess it was incorrect to say I hated that guitar. I hated that I couldn't keep it in tune, and it wouldn't intonate properly without raising the bridge up too high, but it was a beautiful looking guitar. I remember the listing ending on eBay in the early 2000's with zero bids for $900 - and then having to relist it. The finish was probably the best fireglo I've ever seen on any guitar, with traces of pink, orange and yellow. A real fireburst! So you sold it?

I remember that one. I almost went for it but decided not to. Bad decision as Bob got a great deal.

Bad decision as I sold it for about $1350 a couple of years later. Dumb.
