Making new use of my Cube 15 and Vox AC30 Amplug

Many years back I made a purchase of a Roland Cube 15 and was very disappointed with the tones I got out of it for guitar - any guitar. The clean side was too clean and the tone side was barren of any useful overdrive effects. I relegated it to keyboard duty and sometimes plugged in a mic or used it as a monitor. It is really loud for what it is and very clean.

Well today that situation changed when I had the idea to connect my Vox AC30 Amplug to my 325 and the Roland's AUX IN jack. I have now got the sweetest little fake AC30 tones coming out of this thing and I'm sitting here like a kid in love, and laughing with surprise. I like it better than my little Marshall 15 watter with the dual gain circuit. I don't know why I didn't think of this before.

The AUX IN circuit is entirely separate from the guitar section and has no controls and a set volume level, so I just turn every knob on the Cube all the way down and control the volume from the Amplug. That is so handy!

Those little Amplugs are pretty cool. I plugged into one of em and got a great Brian May sorta wail.
