Elton John Teams up with Alice in Chains?

Post by winston »

Courtesy of MSN News:

"Elton John will be collaborating with Alice in Chains on a tribute album for Layne Staley.

Alice in Chains has called upon Elton John to perform a song for their album, honouring the group's late singer, Layne Staley, reports Billboard.com.

John accepted the offer after listening to the piece only once.

Jerry Cantrell, co-founder of Alice in Chains, stated, "He's a really warm person. He got up and gave us a couple of hugs, and said, `Well Jerry, I just wanted to tell you that I think it's a beautiful song.'"

The album, which is set for a release on September 29, will be the first for the group featuring singer/guitarist William DuVall."

Interesting. I guess the watch phrase is "stay tuned" for more details.

Speaking of AIC and EJ, just read in the new BP that their bassist's favorite bassist is Dee Murray.

Dee Murray has a killer tone on "Love lies bleeding" on the "Goodbye yellow brick road" album, as well as being a great player. It's not hard for me to see why he's that guys favorite player.
