Family Photo - Acoustics

Post by longhouse »

With a big gig coming up tomorrow, I chose to re-string the acoustic guitars tonight -and took the opportunity to snap a family portrait. Guess which one gets played the most.

L-R: Fender DG... 12 string, Gibson SJ200, Garrison G30-CE, Tacoma C1C Chief

I'd be all over that Gibson! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Nice acoustic menagerie, Noel. I've got just my one Martin, but it's a doozy!

I've been gigging a lot with 'Solidago', my acoustic duo project, Kira. While I truly miss plugging my Ric or Chet into a Fender amp, it's been so nice to focus on the barest elements of songs. I get to show off a little less, but I get to sing a LOT more. Fair trade I suppose.

I know exactly what you mean. I regularly feel the need to simplify and return to basics. I wouldn't feel right if I didn't have at least one good acoustic for those times. Then when you get to plug in again your work is all the stronger for it. I wish you all the best with your acoustic work. :)

ThanksX4. Aitch, the Tacoma is a pretty special guitar. Its sound is somewhere between a concert-size Taylor and that of a manouche/gypsy guitar. I recently set in with some old school American guys and one of them described it as a 'Bose guitar' due to its clarity and brightness.

My rehearsal space is within sight of those steps now, John. Just name the time and I'm ready to do it again!

Very nice tonal assortment you have there--I have a little Fender acoustic 12, I forget the nomenclature, but it's a nice guitar.
