Based on what we've seen so far - never mind Doc, there's probably already a Jimi trumpet waiting in the wings.

And it would be a Doc Severinsen drum set, or guitar, or accordian, not a trumpet....

It's not even the marketing groups per se, it's just how ridiculous and far-fetched they are getting. It seems like they forgot how to use their heads and relate to their customer base, and their customer's desires. It's like they've adopted an attitude of "They [the consumers] can't tell US what they want! We'll tell THEM what to buy, and of course......as they are ignorant sheep....will buy every last one of our products."

Lord knows, I have no problem with profits driving any company's agenda (that's fully understandable), I just think there are more creative and productive ways of doing so than treating consumers like they have zero taste or can't tell when they are being sold gilded rubbish. :!:

It was just too bad of an idea to have been real. I still have faith in humankind.

Too bad Gibson removed the guitar only AFTER they've essentially "put their foot in their mouth."

People don't forget about even an attempted scheme like that. It hurts the brand name.

PS....admin, why was the thread moved to this forum?

I understand it's about musical brands, but it has nothing to do with tone, or a quest for it....?
