And it would be a Doc Severinsen drum set, or guitar, or accordian, not a trumpet....eatswodo wrote:Based on what we've seen so far - never mind Doc, there's probably already a Jimi trumpet waiting in the wings.ozover50 wrote:Can't wait for the Doc Severinsen trumpet.............![]()

It's not even the marketing groups per se, it's just how ridiculous and far-fetched they are getting. It seems like they forgot how to use their heads and relate to their customer base, and their customer's desires. It's like they've adopted an attitude of "They [the consumers] can't tell US what they want! We'll tell THEM what to buy, and of course......as they are ignorant sheep....will buy every last one of our products."
Lord knows, I have no problem with profits driving any company's agenda (that's fully understandable), I just think there are more creative and productive ways of doing so than treating consumers like they have zero taste or can't tell when they are being sold gilded rubbish.

...or the male automotive industry, which is basically the fashion industry with wheels and hard surfaces...
Re: Gibson jumps the shark (again)
Maybe a pink-slipped Gibson webmaster had his revenge for a few days.

We wish it had been a joke, John.
They made a promo video too...

It was just too bad of an idea to have been real. I still have faith in humankind.
Re: Gibson jumps the shark (again)
Too bad Gibson removed the guitar only AFTER they've essentially "put their foot in their mouth."
People don't forget about even an attempted scheme like that. It hurts the brand name.

PS....admin, why was the thread moved to this forum?
I understand it's about musical brands, but it has nothing to do with tone, or a quest for it....?
