Check out John's Telecaster Bass with the Gibson mini-humbucker pickup right below the Fender humbucker. I did something similar with the two '72 Tele Basses I used to have but with a Rick hi-gain much closer to the bridge.

More Christine McVie early Fleetwood Mac nostalgia ....
Here is another Chrtistine McVie classic, piano-based tune, dating from the early 1970s. "Remember Me" was first released, if memory serves, on the 1972 album "Penguin" which was the first of only two albums for Bob Weston to appear with the Mac as a guitar player, during those transition years.

This performance version dates from 1981, live at the Roxie -- a show entitiled "Bob Welch and Friends', uniting that dynamic Fleetwood Mac duo of Christine and Bob Welch --

Okay, you classic Fleetwood Mac/Christine McVie fans... if you're still with me. We have saved the best for last.

1970 the year. Peter Green had quit the band, to pursue a minimum wage, grave-digging career, throwing off the shackles of capitalism and song Royalties and begin his 30-some year recuperation from years of Lysergic abuse. (Before it was hip for guitarists to go to Rehab !) The band went into the studio to do a pivotal album... Green's protégé, Danny Kirwan, came of age and took the band into more of a 1970s Rock direction from their earlier Blues roots. Jeremy Spenser continued in his role as the Slide guitar master in the style of Elmore James.

The legendary Christine Perfect played keyboards and sang on the Kiln House album -- but was not officially listed "in" the band. She was credited with the Kiln House album cover art. So here we have two final You Tubes for this nostalgic look at Christine McVie's historic role in this band. This time the focus is on young Mac guitarist and song writer Danny Kirwan.

The first You Tube is Kirwan's classic "Station Man" live from 1970 with some interesting photo collage footage... Kirwan's guitar playing is white hot ... and the guitar interaction with Spenser is great ! Unfortunately this live mix rendition drowns out Christine's keyboards work, although you can hear her vocals carrying the day.... she toured extensively with the Mac to promote Kiln House in 1970. Then Spenser quit on the first day of a tour in Los Angeles (to join a Religious sect), the band unraveled and Bob Welch took Spenser’s place in 1971.

The second You Tube is something I've just come across today... some rare "documentary" footage from the Kiln House sessions with Christine, John, Mick, Danny Kirwan and slide maestro Jeremy Spenser. Spenser's slide work on "When the Train Came Rolling Back" starts it out. Not many people can play Slide like that man --- and its a pity the Kirwan- Spenser line-up did not survive for long. But then again - maybe that's what brought Christine to the forefront.

More good "Station Man" stuff is included in this promo film... starting about 3:41 with some of Spenser's wicked slide work on an old Gibson and it looks like Kirwan is playing a Flying V. And a very young looking Christine Perfect is on the keyboards and harmony vocals… About 7:20 into the film, Christine takes the lead vocals doing a bluesy rendition of "Bye Bye Baby".
