Who Am I #75

Post by admin »

From Peter McCormack

Who Am I #75

Four points up for grabs. Who composed it, who did the original recording, who is singing this recording and who produced it?
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I'll answer the first question by saying that it appears in a by now very aged book I have, entitled "50 Hit Songs by John Lennon and Paul McCartney".
Having said that, I've got a feeling it was someone like the Fourmost who had the first record on it...
Don't know who this version is, but it does sound somewhat Spectoral...

The song is Hold Me Tight, written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The Beatles first recorded it on February 11th, 1963, for inclusion on their first LP Please Please Me. The song was surplus for that album, and was not used. The Beatles recorded a remake on September 12th, 1963, and the song appeared on their second LP, With the Beatles. This version is done by The Treasures, and was produced by Phil Spector on his Phillies label.

Excellent, Kris. I would be grateful if you would send along a song.
