You Gotta Start Somewhere....
Friday night, I played Jazz guitar in a bowling alley. Literally.

Rickenbackers + Bowling = Good Times!

Cool!
Quite unique, actually.

That bowling alley venue was a lot better than the chilli parlor one my band and I played at back in Peoria IL in the 1970s!

Actually, it sounds better than a gig I had back in the early 80's, our band, Rock & roll, played Country-Western stuff at a local political candidate's thing at some rancher's barn. The food was good, the speeches sucked, the music, well, it was C-W, what can I say...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I've played in a bowling alley!
Good times and fun shoes.
Looks like it was a very cool event.

Re: You Gotta Start Somewhere....
Hope you enjoyed yourselves.
I'm trying to imagine what the sound'd be like in a bowling alley. I'm thinking echoey, but maybe that's just the sound the balls make when they hit the pins.
What was it like?

No, but we did joke about that before the show.beatlefreak wrote:Did you guys wear matching bowling shoes?
The sound was, well, quiet. We had a hard time projecting to all sides (it's a big bowling alley), and most of the bowlers weren't paying attention to us. Luckily, we accumulated our own group of fans that stood close by so they could actually hear us.jayen_aitch wrote:

That would be a good combination, but I was actually playing a Gretsch for this show.Len wrote:Rickenbackers + Bowling = Good Times!
