worth the upgrade?
worth the upgrade?
I have been using an old Boss BR864, for solo recording and some band jobs, but am wondering if it would be worth the extra bucks to upgrade to the BR1600 so that I could record 8 simultaneous tracks instead of 2, and pick up vocal pitch correction, and better mastering tools?
Re: worth the upgrade?
Are you definitely wanting to record in an all-in-one unit or have you looked at any computer recording options?
Re: worth the upgrade?
I have been old school; my previous recording was all on a 4 track cassette. I do have Cakewalk Sonar software in my computer, but I still prefer to record on the all in one multi-track unit.
Re: worth the upgrade?
Ok, if nobody has an opinion on the Boss BR1600 does anybody have any experience with the Yamaha AW1600?
Re: worth the upgrade?
Jim - Did you ever get the Boss BR 1600? I am considering it.
Leprosy is rare & scarce but nobody wants that!

Odd...I've been a part of this forum for over a year now and never looked at these post topics.
Mr. Byrd, I have the Boss BR900 and have done everything on it so far. I just bought the BR1600 last week, and it should be arriving any day. It will take some time to get used to it and record with it. Opinions coming...did you come to any conclusions of your own?
