An Old Gem Discovered

Post by jimk »

I finally got my old TASCAM 244 Portastudio out of the shop recently. And rummaging around in a desk drawer, what should I find but an old cassette tape dated October 1996 with some old nearly forgotten songs I had written. One of my favorites is a sure enough, cryin' in yer beer, honky-tonk song that old Hank would be proud of called "Why Do I Cry Over You." The vocal mix is pretty good, and the acoustic guitar is nicely done. But it needs (what else?) a steel guitar. Bass and drums should fill out the rhythm section. Some twangy fills by a 360, 330, or maybe one of the 600 series would round this out real nicely.

Any interest?

Should make for an interesting collab! Looking forward to hearing the finished result. Feel free to post the original demo, Jim. A "before & after" would be interesting to compare & contrast.

Probably me at this moment. Unless, that is you'd like to participate.
