Roger McGuinn Guitar Player Interview late 1990's

I'm looking for a back issue of "Guitar Player" from the late 1990's (possibly 1997) in which there was an article which revealed all of Roger's tone secrets during the early Byrds years. Does anyone have a copy or perhaps remember the date of the magazine?

May 97 has an article with a lot of tab, showing the interplay between the guitars (i.e. arrangements) on various songs. Nothing much on "tone secrets", in the sense of electronics, etc, though...
