Right! An oft-used term that comes from the department of redundancy department.

In reality, the water heater becomes a hot-water heater as it continues to keep hot water hot. I wanted to get one of those tankless water heaters, but the price was like four to five times what the standard tank would cost, with the money saved on energy not paying out for several years. Eh, maybe next time.

I keep getting faked out by this thread title; I keep seeing it in the new posts, forget it's all guessing wishing, and wisecracking, and click on it, thinking there is [/i some actual RIC news. Oh well. Maybe we'll see something at NAMM, eh? :D

Wouldn't that then, technically, be a "hot water reheater"? I have a tankless unit. They are not without their issues. For instance, if you have a very efficient clothes washing machine that uses very little water, you'll NEVER get hot water to it because it takes a minute or more for the tank coils to heat up enough to send hot water through your lines...and so you'll only ever get warm water, at best in the washer. Same is true for a dishwasher unit...so, you end up having your dishwasher using its heating elements to heat water instead of getting it from your more "efficient" tankless sytem. You don't hear about that from the manufactures of these units though!!! However, on the flip side....one hour long hot showers are a real possibility!

The whole issue is really a cauldron...though some would call it just a tempest in a teapot.
Because I told you before- oh, you can't do that.

I always considered it a cold water heater, if the water was hot you wouldnt need to heat it, it turns cold water into hot water..just like refridgerater/freezer, thats to long, it should be called a refridgideezer.
