I saw them in 1978 and it was far and away one of the most - if not the most - sloppy performances I've ever paid money to see. They were at the height of their first wave of popularity with the successes of "Rocks", "Draw The Line" and "Live Bootleg" and were still playing a bunch from "Toys In The Attic" and "Get Your Wings". Plus, they were now film stars with a scene in the live action movie "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and had a hit with the remake of "Come Together" for the film soundtrack. Brad Whitford struck me as the guy who was the better, more complete player and was actually playing a ton of Perry's parts that night. On the guitar note, Joe mostly played a black Strat that night and beat the bloody hell out of it, then continued to play it; I gained a ton of respect for Strats that night! (LOL) He also spend some time with a single cut Les Paul Junior for most of the slide stuff. Brad Whitford used a tobacco 'burst Les Paul Standard for the entire gig and IIRC, Tom Hamilton was playing a very early Music Man Stingray Bass - I think he was the only guy I ever saw with one back then aside from Louis "Thunder Thumbs" Johnson.
