Townshend and Daltrey Superbowl Half Time Show
Townshend and Daltrey Superbowl Half Time Show
I reckon that was a great performance by all on stage. Your thoughts?

I thought it rocked! IMO Pete outta get a personal trainer (he can afford one), but he still looked way cool in the porkpie hat and shades!

Good show - Lotta Fender equipment.

After a bit of a shaky start Roger was brilliant and hit all the high notes perfectly. Pete was typical Pete and you gotta love that windmill move. It's a classic and his timing is impeccable

Yep, a good show, although I still prefer full songs, not a medley.

What's that behind the bridge?
Also, who was the drummer? Zack Starkey? I thought I read somewhere that he learned to play watching Keith rather than his dad. He certainly had Keith's face licks down.

Alan Rogan, Pete's tech, explains that fourth knob, here.

Greg: I believe that the knob above the jack is to control the piezo output. A number of his Stratocasters have had Lace Sensors with a Fishman piezo transducer saddle-pickup system. I suspect it his (or Fender's) attempt to simulate an acoustic sound.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

They're great, still full of energy and credibility despite their age

Amen, No slouches, they. 65 and rocking! The audience sang along on some songs, too...the stage set was amazing, especially when the lighting picked up on Pete's windmills and showed them in silhouette...I missed not seeing Entwhistle and Moon.

Don't get me wrong, I like Townsend and the boys...but I actually thought it was just OK, their voices were too strained IMHO....I wonder when the Superbowl is going to get over the Janet Jackson "wardrobe malfunction" and book someone under 40....

BTW, on a related (Superbowl) topic ...maybe I missed the thread, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Miller spot that featured Bizzare Guitar in Phoeniz....the owner had a RIck...looked like a c63....

Me too, when we saw that commercial I told my wife "This is gonna be a big thread on the Ric Forum tomorrow(haha)", but apparently nadda.johneek wrote:BTW, on a related (Superbowl) topic ...maybe I missed the thread, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Miller spot that featured Bizzare Guitar in Phoeniz....the owner had a RIck...looked like a c63....

I missed the Miller ad. Bizarre Guitar was where I got my very first Rick.
