Seems like a bargain.I mean,the case alone must be worth $2500? Here is the auction

I love the bit where the paint has worn through and you can see a nice curly top underneath.....

It looks like a real gem!

I am not a fan of Les Pauls.

But that is one Les Paul I would love to own - that is very beautiful.

I gotta start buying Lotto tickets again ;)

The '52 is always a relative cheapie due to the awful bridge/tailpiece. To make this truly playable, you would need to replace the bridge/tailpiece unit and thus compromise originality. The guitar is also in poor cosmetic condition and is in need of a refret.... so from a collector's point of view (and they're the folk who drive prices into the stratosphere) it's a dog. Personally, I think it's a great guitar but $7k would buy a '65 Ventures and a '66 360 (NS) in excellent condition and possibly leave me with enough change to get a cool tube amp.....(second hand of course)....
