new owner of a 360

I just wanted to introduce myself: after wanting a 360 for a decade and half plus, I finally took the plunge and picked up a second-hand JG 360 off of the local craigslist. And I couldn't be happier.

I've had a 4001 for 15 years (I used to be the bass player -- my wife appropriated it a decade ago) and I had a 230 Hamburg (beat to heck) that I bought when leaving in Germany (not Hamburg, sadly). The latter had some serious issues and I sold it for a Jazzmaster years ago. The 360, however, feels like "home." The neck feels just right and it is extremely playable.

Which brings me to my main question: having used Jazzmasters and Jaguars for the last few years, I really only miss the vibrato (tremolo in Fender terms). How does the Accent vibrato compare to the fender floating tremolo? I'm curious, as the slight "glide" you can get with a Jazzmaster/Jaguar was a favorite part of my guitar technique. (see: English shoegaze bands, esp. My Bloody Valentine).

Any input appreciated.

Hi Geoff, I play a 330 in a shoegaze-y band and the Accent Vibrato is great for the Kevin Shields "glider" technique. Not quite as much dip as a Jazzmaster but close, and very smooth action with good tuning stability to boot.

thanks, that's exactly what I'm after. (But not quite as constant).

Is the trem arm (sorry: vibrato arm) long enough for Kevin Shields-type strumming?

Maybe JB can comment on that, but if not, you might be able to find a metal shop near you that could make one for you.
