1970's Kustom K-100 combo amp worth $200?

Post by octagon »

I saw a 1970's Kustom K-100 amp at a local store for about $200.It is in good shape except it is missing the handle and back cover. It sound really good. It's a 100 watt solid state amp with 2 10" speaker.Has a really awesome tremolo circuit. The one at the store is black tuck and roll(like CCR's Kustom amps) but otherwise it looks just like the red one in the photo below.Think it is worth $200?

Prices on these are starting to climb very quickly.

My first amp was a Kustom 200 watt head and a 2x15 cab.

Just like the one pictured on CCR's Cosmos Factory Album cover..

It was a HEAVY BEAST, but I SURE DO MISS THAT AMP!

Got a rig similar to that I'd be glad to unload.

That price sounds good. I bought a Kustom K100G-6 bass amp about two years ago for that price.

I'm afraid the shipping would be more than $200.

Anyway I bought this one I saw at Music-Go-Round. It works great. The speakers are replacements but it came with the originals speakers also(they need to be re-coned).

Actually, not. I just checked on the Fedex site for a speaker cabinet I am sending fromOohio to Louisiana that weights about 70 lbs. and is around 24" x 48" x 23" that will cost me $42.

Do you have a picture of your rig Jim? I can't buy it but I'd still love to see it.

I found this cool website for Kustom Kollectors

Tuck and (rock and)roll on Mitch! Another cool score. I've always liked the look of these amps but, quite frankly, I have no idea how they sound.

How do they sound?

Here they are. Other than the little boo-boo to the tuck'n'roll covering you can see in the top left-hand corner of the cab, it's in good shape. I had it totally gone over last fall. I'm not certain what a fair price would be for it.
