Awwwwwwwww....sorry about that! As far as I know, Rick doesn't play them much, if at all, live. But I'm sure he has one or 2 in his collection. Does anyone have a copy of that coffee table book about his guitar collection?
I got kind of side-tracked here and went back and read the original question about it belonging to the Ramones...I have NO clue!
Sorry...I always associate them with Mosrites.

I do have a pic of Robin while recording "Dream Police" with the Ric, maybe 1978/79?

Yeah, it's been an ongoing thing with me since 1978. I worked at a concert hall and they came thru town and were the nicest people and I was totally into Tom's 12 string "wall of sound", so I followed them for a long time, and saw them everytime they came thru the Michigan area. Not so much anymore, but up until about 4 years ago, I was a lock to be there.

Sorry it took me 6 months to reply here. When I'm gone, I'm gone, and when I'm here you can't shut me up...
Tom's 8 string Rick bass was in the collection of instruments I sold for John Hall in 1989 - 1990. In the same era I sold Tom a few other Rick basses and the Hofner he used for 'Can't Stop Falling In Love.' Around this time I loaned them Transonics and McGuinn's light show 341-12SF for a video. Tom later bought several of the Transonics.
Rick actually 'borrowed' the book idea from me. I had spoken to him about being included in a 'guitars of the stars' book project we were putting together that was going to feature a dozen or so major guitarists known for their collections. His response was 'sure, as long as I get something out of it.' Next thing I knew he was doing his own picture book.
The lefty Broadcaster in the book belongs to Bun E., the basses to Tom, and a couple of the other guitars to Robin. The two lefty Strats belonged to a guitar dealer who happened to be arond when they did the photo shoot. I owned both guitars by the time the book came out, and boy was I shocked to find out that Rick thought he had owned them.
There's no history like revisionist history, I always say...
