GREAT article. Parts 1 and 2 are worth reading too.

Here's an excerpt:

I saw Les Paul when he was a young man, right in the middle of the most blazing solo you’ve ever heard in your life – just a phenomenal guitarist – and Tal Farlow walked into the club right in the middle of the solo. And everybody knew it was Tal Farlow, who was a great, great guitarist. Les was right in the middle of it and he looked up and he saw Tal and — without missing a beat — pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket, put it over his left hand and continued to play so Tal couldn’t steal his licks! (laughs) I saw that, man, and I just went, “I want to be in show business!”

Like a lot of forty-year-old stories, I think he's got some of the Beatles facts wrong... Didn't the Beatles only record at Olympic the one time,
in 1967? Was it Fixing a Hole or Baby You're a Rich Man? Yoko wasn't there (from what I've read :D ) so I wonder if Steve was at Trident,
Abbey Road or Apple Studios on occasion(?). And, again, from what I've read, Get Back wouldn't have been written, arranged, recorded and
released in as short a time period he is remembering. Get Back/Let It Be sessions seemed to have been multiple live takes, as nauseum.

None the less, the entire four-part interview was a very enjoyable read. Thanks for posting.

The LEAST likely story he tells is of Yoko being at one of the Beatle sessions, but not John!!
Only my opinion of course :) but I do believe that Steve Miller has never been one to let the truth get in the way of a good story...
