Anyone here in Peoria Illinois?

Post by opticnerve »

Howdy all!

There's a guitar in Peoria, Illinois that I'd like to score. The seller won't ship...pick-up only.

Can anyone help? :D

Thanks, Tony

Nice Tony! You are gonna love it. Here's mine, a '65 (in the middle  ):

If you are gonna play the thing the vibrato has got to go. Mine refused to hold tuning no matter what I did until I dumped it. It's great now!

Very cool in white John...the one in the middle!

Thanks for the tip! Yes, I'm hoping to record with it soon.

Do those stop tailpeices all have holes for the strings?

Yep, it is the same exact tailpiece used on the non-trem versions. One size fits all. :D

Hey John, the old time Mets & Cubs logos on our avatars makes me think back to the days when both
teams were in the Eastern Division. It was a GREAT rivalry! I really miss it.

Anyway...hope your Mets lose tonight!

Hey Tony, nice score!

You know you've got a good one when the ad says: "no chunks missing."

Got to make sure all those chunks are in place!

Congrats, Tony!

I grew up in Peoria ... the seller's name sounds a bit like the name of a music store there (Don's Music).

Thanks Ron! Good to hear from you mate! I hope all is well with you.

Yeah, once I realized that all the chunks were accounted for, I had to have it!!!

Cool! I went to that store many times back when I was in junior college (early 1970s). Don's a really nice guy, as I remember. I actually got to play at the store a Höfner Silver Beatle Bass anniversary edition back then ... I don't think I have ever seen one of those for sale anywhere.
