ES-335 Light Blue Sparkle - Ugly or Not?

Post by electrofaro »

I was checking stock for interesting items and found this.

This ES-335 was once custom made for an unknown customer, who somehow never got it.

We were discussing this at work, as some liked it a lot, some, however think it's ugly.

[Edit]Forgot to mention I like it - a lot[/Edit]

I would like it more of it was just a standard Pelham Blue finish, metallic but without glitter.
Great Ramp In My Opinion.

The glitter reminded me of 70s truck stop tables - imo it would be horribly boring if it was plain pale blue, though. Plain blue just doesn't work for me like plain red on guitars. Exception being MID!

Oh my... if my car would be that colour, it would not be my car. Pelham blue's not a fav. But then we must be glad we don't all like the same colour or we all would be toting jetglos (which we should, btw  )

I'm generally not at all a fan of light blue, but that light blue sparkle has a nice touch of earthy silvery-grey that I like very much. I prefer the Pelham blue, however; from the photo, it appears to be a fair bit like Fender's Lake Placid blue.
Can we have everything louder than everything else?

ES-335's should only come in cherry red or brown burst...............that's just my twisted opinion of course.

Yep. +1 The ES 335 is a traditional, staid design that the blue sparkle spices it up nicely.

Cherry Red would be my second choice, but you know how I feel about any guitar finished in Brown, Brian....

After seeing the Pelham blue guitar, I decided I like it. It needs a Bigsby, IMHO.

JG is my favourite colour overall in a Rickenbacker but I would never say no to a nice MB or a nice ATG or Walnut. A nicely ambered FG also makes my do not ignore list but getting back on topic, Cherry Red on a Gibson just does it for me. Light blue with sparkles does not do it for me at all I am afraid.
