What do you think of the new(2009) Les Paul Juniors?

Just curious.I'd like to try one but I never see any at the GC near me. They have a different neck joint than the old ones and the cutaway is different to. Just wondering how they compare to the version that Gibson made a few years ago(the regular production model).

Do they sound like this?

Don't think this is of much help, but I plugged a '08 Les Paul Junior into a Reeves (Hiwatt replica) 100 watt head through Marshall cabinet. I liked the tone of the guitar very much, but the neck shape was rather odd. Felt more like [-shaped than C or D shaped.

Really?Didn't the old ones used to have a big fat neck?

Ooh that's nice! Are the pickups P-90's? I saw a model like that on Gibson's website but it was only available in Europe.

yep p-90's. from what i have been told gibson made these for the japan market but a handfull made it to the u.s market. one of the best guitars i ever had was a 2004 gibson les paul dc with p 90's so i cant wait to play this one

Wow,That is awesome. Where did you get it? I heard that some Guitar Center stores got another "Japan only" Gibson last week: The TV Yellow Les Paul Junior Special Robot.They are selling them for between $799 and $899 from what I heard.

wow love the robot i got it from a mom and pop store about 70 miles away. also on the guitar center i was told they now have a gibson les paul studio gold top faded with p-90's selling for $899 i need to find time to go check them out or at least make a call

TV Yellow LP Special or Junior in a single cutaway, or a LP Custom in White; those are pretty much the only two Gibsons I'd ever want to own.

I have several SG juniors, they are voiced pretty much the same as the Les Paul Junior that they evolved from.
In short they rip! One of them is a mid 60s one and the other one is a Japan only pink one.
Don't be afraid of the worn or satin finishes on the newer ones, as horrible as they look the timber seems to really sing through the thin finish and you will have a guitar that will season a lot faster!

Gibson Juniors are my favorite 6 stringers.......

I think the neck is very comfortable. It's not too fat and not too thin,kinda like the late 50's('59?) profile. Satin finish feels great.
