Amplifiers and 360
I have a '91 360 6 string and wondered if anyone out there could suggest an amplifier (physically small valve combo) to get the best out of my guitar. I play Byrds and Springfield influenced country rock and mainly play rhythm as I am the singer. Any ideas?
I play a '99 360/6 thru a new Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue and get great Rick sounds. However, it is an expensive amp. Another player in an earlier post on this subject said he was very happy with a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, at about half the price. If you're playing clubs you might consider the Fender Vibrolux Reverb for full clean sounds in a relatively small package. Of course, the Vox AC-15 or AC-30 are very highly recommended for Rickenbackers and they are also expensive. I was thinking to buy a Vox Cambridge 30 Twin at about $350 but I couldn't find one to test; which turned out to be a good thing because I got another Rickenbacker guitar instead. And then someone posted that he had had some very bad luck with that Cambridge model, so I really lucked out. I hope this helps. Good Hunting!
