I been thinkin too much again.
What would the dificulties of making an 8 string mandolin into a miniture 6 string guitar, for a little person.
I looked at the bridge and it seems to be the standard ric mounting. The actual chasis looks like a 12 string bridge to me...

notice the 12 holes.
So does anyone think its possible and reversable.
Obviusly it would need a custom nut, and some bridge tweaking - but is it really that simple?
I think Ive still got some time to work this out - he is not quite one yet. lol
just an idea that popped in my head...
JP
a couple particulars I dont know.
do the mandolins have truss rods
and what is a mandolin tuned to, so I can compare the tensions of it to a guitar style 5th 4th combo.
Just a novelty idea for now
