Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster
I see that the Fender Acoustaconic Telecasters are beginning to make the rounds these days.
I am wondering if anyone has played one and how they might compare to the Rickenbacker 380L with the piezo.
I have heard some nice jazz tones from the instrument online and like the idea of the rosewood bridge and the twisted tele pickup at the neck both of which seem to add warmth to this instrument.

Wow! that is a nice sounding guitar and I like the way Mark plays it. He has a great touch on the neck. Very well played IMHO.

I agree, Brian. Great playability and nice tone. You may have to change your opinion on MIM Fender guitars.

Wow, indeed! That sounds even better than my Parker.

I'm suspicious of gear demos like this. Some guys can make anything sound good!

Re: Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster
This is certainly an instrument to check out. They still seem to be scarce at least at music shops in my area. Then again, unless you are looking for a moose on a highway, most things are scarce where I live.

Re: Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster
I think I will check them out at our local (30 - 40 minute drive for me) Fender dealer. Moose on the highway is not gonna happen around here though Peter.
However there are plenty of deer and coyotes where I live.

Re: Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster
Remember, if you want to hear a 380L PZ, listen to the strumming on the second half of "He Showed Up In May/She Left In June" on the RRF CD1.

Excellent Jason. A good reference.

Re: Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster
The key to any of the piezo solid bodies is playing them through an acoustic guitar amp or a PA. I put a Fishman Power Bridge on my guitar and found that you don;t get a convincing acoustic sound through an electric guitar amp. The bridge I used is the same one used by Fender and Carvin. It is wired with a PowerChip.

Re: Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster
Maybe that's what's going on with my Parker - I don't usually bother to use the stereo. I don't have an acoustic amp per se but I do have a nice clean little SS Roland Cube. I'll have to see if that beats my Vox for convincing acoustic tones. I have the Parker Fishman system that's about ten years old.ken_j wrote:The key to any of the piezo solid bodies is playing them through an acoustic guitar amp or a PA.
