Larry:

Closest is our friend Larry Davis, in Roswell (Atlanta), GA.

A number of Forumites have had guitars refinished by Larry, and can attest to his excellent work and attention to detail.

I resemble that remark! :D Here's a plus vote for Larry. :D

Don't worry, he wouldn't refinish your guitar in RED unless you asked him to.

i've been working closely with Larry on a number of Ric bass projects (minor clean-up work 64 4001 delux, neck rebinding on a '77 4002, and 2 '72 4001's being completey re-finished).

excellent quality, excellent communication - great guy.

Here's another vote for Larry. No need for you to do anything to the guitar prior to sending it to him.

Laurence, we don't discuss pricing for luthiery work on this public forum. If you want to reach Larry Davis, try writing to him at the email address that I gave in the second post in this thread. He's very good at returning emails, and I would also add my vote once again for his quality and communication.

Coincidentally, I just finished redoing a McGuinn with the same issue (checking on face and back), for another customer! Pics when I get it reassembled...

Larry, can you post a picture or two of the finish as is?

I like checking. :)
