Damn it, you made me buy one now! I was in protracted negotiations for a trade/purchase with CME on their '66 330/12 but many e-mails later I ended up with this one from Seattle:

I'm hoping it's here for my gig on Wednesday!

Glad you like it Billy! I agree, it was the best playing Ric I've ever owned. Enjoy!!!

And here's the kicker...the one I kept sounds better! But I had to make a choice - as tough as it was. :-(

The one you kept was a six string right?

I kept a 1964 6-string, and an early 1966 12-string. But yours was the nicest playing (and looking) 12 I've ever owned. I just prefer the sound of the thicker top and I needed the money for my holy Grail guitar. :-) Enjoy! It will be missed!

Well I gotta tell you. If the 12 you've kept sounds better, I'll be smacked. I played it on the gigs all weekend and it sounded amazing, sweet, Agressive, jangly Harrison and Townshend at the same time. So I'm going with YOU like the sound of your other one better. I would probably like this better so I'm Glad you sold her to me, so she can be with someone who would not forsake her for another.

Better in a different way. More Townsend like. Yeah, personal preference. I didn't make the choice lightly. Literally dozens of hours A-B'ing them through various vintage VOX & Fender amps. They are both beautiful sounding guitars. Have fun with it! Glad it went to a good home!

Billy beautiful guitar. So any Idea why this one is such a great player compared to your others? Neck angle? Setup? Sting gauge? Action height? :?:

All of the above. my JG 74 330/12 21 fret is a real winner too. But the neck and the tones on the 66 are just amazing. Put it to you this way Chris at POTR's just set it up with TI flats and said if I ever wanted to get rid of it, he wanted it for his personal collection.

It is that good

It just kicks the **** out of the V64 and the C63 I had, as well as any I played. They were just not close. in sound or playability
