Looking for a C58.

Post by StaleRye »

For a good while now, I've been looking for this guitar, but living in a small town in the Houston/east Texas area has not given me that many opportunities to find one. I know one was shipped to Fuller's not too long ago, but I went up there and it had already been snatched away. If there is anyone in my area who has one, or knows where I can get one, or lives anywhere at all and would like to sell it, please let me know.

Also, new to the forum, guys.

Does it have to be new?

One went on ebay a little while ago for only $1,900. You could also order it from musiciansfriend or music123 but you will pay in excess of $3K.

It depends on how picky you are about where you get it. If you want a new one and don't want to pay top dollar and don't want to order online, you will be waiting a LONG time. However if you are the opposite of what I just said, I think it wouldn't be too hard to pick one up today.

I don't mind ordering online or if it's new or not, but I'd like it to bee in good condition and all. Not too many major dings in the finish. Money isn't too big of a deal. Also, I know the model isn't being produced anymore, so that's why I'd like to get one soon before they become extremely hard to find. Also, I plan to Lennonize it, so I was hoping to get one in Jetglo.

Hi S.R.,

Although these haven't been shipped from Ric in a while, there are still Ric dealers out there with new 325C58's in their inventory. I owned a 325 for many years and (foolishly) sold it in a moment of stupidity  . When I recently went looking for another 325 after parting with a Gibson R9 50th, I decided I wanted a C58 in Jetglo that I could locate either new at a dealer, or a well kept used example from someone willing to part with theirs. By a stroke of luck, my local Ric dealer had one in inventory that a buyer who committed on it couldn't follow through with the purchase. So I put a deposit on it immediately (this was on Friday) and I pick it up on Tuesday. So my point is to not discount the idea that there may be one out there still in a dealer's inventory. I did find a few dealers that had the MG finish if you are flexible on the color, but my heart was set on JG so I kept looking until I found this one.

Good luck!

Fullers has them now, if you haven't already found one.
