C64 Headstock

Post by spongebob »

Browsing E-bay for Rics (hey, we all do it???), I spotted a C64.

However, the headstock is the 'normal' way around.

I didn't know they made C64's with the headstocks non-reversed?

Probaly wrong, but I thought I'd ask to put my mind at rest!

If it ain't flopped, it ain't a C64. Most likely it's a V63 which appears to be the same except for the headstock and TRC. Sometimes resellers just don't know what they have.

They did do some 4001S models for Japan recently. There is a thread or two here, but I can't find them at the mo.

My C64 does not have raised lettering for the Rick logo and does not say "Made in USA" on the bottom. Does that sound right?

That's how they should be, no worries there.
