Bridge Pickup Decision

Post by jack1953 »

I have owned a few Rics, 4003s and 4004s. Both 4003s I owned were new and came with the pickup cover. Due to financial changes and so forth, I was forced to sell the new ones and purchase a used 2006 4003. The bass I am getting is coming without a pickup cover installed. However, the seller is sending the cover and a pickguardian accessory. I know I do not want to leave the pickup like it is with the holes on the side. I'm trying to decide which way to go, cover or pickguardian. Since it really doesn't make much difference to me, as I like the way both options look, I guess I'll go for whichever option is easier to install; the cover or the pickguardian. Any advice? Thanks. (P.S. I am not a complete bass maintenance novice, as I do have some knowledge as far as setting one up)
