Blueburst = Insane Posting??

Post by Ric N. Backer »

I must be missing something here. This blueburst on ebay must have been there for at least six months. The last one I saw, sold for about $2,000.00 They have it listed for $3,495. What's up with this?

Is this insane or what?
If Mozart were with us today, he'd play a Fireglo 4001C64! ~~~*~~~ Beethoven, on the other hand, would play a Matte Jetglo 4001C64S!

This particular ebay seller generally has prices that are way above what could be considered the market in the US. They occasionally sell their items, probably mostly to overseas buyers to whom their prices may not be abnormal.

I'm thinking about selling my 05 4003 BBR after the holidays, but for a much more reasonable price than that... 8)

This person is an interesting case study with a bizarre alternative lifestyle. I'll leave it at that. A couple of years ago, I sent her a note asking if these guitars carried full factory warranties. She replied that they were new, but had no warranties. No warranties= no factory service.

There are some other odd goings-on concerning her ability to scare up new instruments, but eventually as the holes are plugged, she'll be Rickenhistory.

I've noticed a number of new Rics for sale on Ebay by unauthorized dealers. Olivia's is one of them. There are others.

What do these folks do? Purchase existing stock from authorized dealers at a discount, and then mark them up to heaven's door with the hope they will cash in on product that the majority of us know can be purchased for less $$.

I'm all for an open market, however, it seems like some of these folks trying to sell product lack economic insight.

Or am I the only one who was able to purchase a brand new 4003 from an authorized dealer for a reasonable price, delivered?

On a similar note. I'd like that 1959 4000 reissue done in blueburst!!! :mrgreen:
