4002 on UK ebay

Post by espidog »

Just spotted this. I don't know enough about the 4002 to tell if there's anything amiss (Are those machine heads correct? I guess they must be, as there are no other holes visible), but it looks lovely enough, checker binding an' all!

Starting bid is £2k. Heaven only knows what the reserve is...

Looks all original at a glance, even tuners.

Nice.

One just sold on ebay about a month ago for $5,000.00 I think the person was located in Canada. As I recall there was just the one bid, which was the minimum amount. I believe the buy-it-now was $7,500.00

It would be cool if Ric reissued these!! :D
If Mozart were with us today, he'd play a Fireglo 4001C64! ~~~*~~~ Beethoven, on the other hand, would play a Matte Jetglo 4001C64S!

This 4002 belonged to my sadly departed friend Dave Carr.
His widow Julie is the seller.
I can vouch that this 4002 is a peach.
I just hope Julie gets the best price possible and that it goes to a good home.

I hope she does well, too.

The last one went for $5,000.00. It'll be interesting to see how much this goes for. It's(the 4002 model) the 3rd one I've seen on ebay in the past 6 months.

+1,000,000 That's great figuring!

I hope Julie gets a good price for this beauty too. I only wish I had the money to buy it... :(

I think I'm going to bid on it and figure out how to get it later. I have plenty of people in the UK who can help me. I've wanted one of these for a long time......

Definitely, go for it...
And if you get tired of it in a few years, I just might have enough saved up to take it off your hands...

The price of a brand new C64 4001 with enough left over for about half a brand new 4003! :D

The final price surprised me too. Given the sad nature of the reason for the sale it's probably not as much as everyone expected or hoped for; but I CAN guarantee it's going to a Forumites home  :D
Can we have a bit more talent in the monitors please.....?
