thats awful news !.. i hope he's gonna be ok, i love dave and his guitar playing is just so exciting and scratchy a real garage punker.
and a down to earth guy as well, i seem to recall him on a tv program talking about camping apparently he loved to drive round england and europe with his family and a tent.. get well soon dave and lets see the kinks back on stage....

I've always loved the Kinks, and have been lucky enough to see them a handful of times here in Philly and they were always fun.

I really hope he recovers...

That's sad news. His autobiography, 'Kink', is one of the best-ever rockstar bios (sex, drugs, rock'n'roll, violence, sex, and more sex). Fortunately, he mellowed out considerably in later years (although he still rocked when I saw him perform about 5 years ago), and his book does contain a picture of him with one of his sons in front of their camper/caravan out in the moors, looking for UFO's (his book also makes it very clear that he's heavily into very far-out spirituality stuff). Best wishes to the man ...
