Second Hand Prices

Post by Tom_Harwood »

Hi. I am 16 and live in england.
I have been playing guitar for a year now and I love it. I practice for hours every day (im sure its wrecking my chances in my GCSE exams) on my Squire strat(eugghh). I adore the look and sound of Rickenbackers and it would be a dream come true to have one. I am hoping to get a job over the summer and I was wondering If possibly I could save up enough for one second hand. How much would I be looking at.

Tom,
Welcome to the wonderful world of Rickenbacker admirers and owners. There are lots of places to find used prices, but this one is a favorite of mine. It should give you a pretty good idea of prices here in the USA anyhow. Good luck.

Nothing compares to the sound of a Rick 12 with a JangleBox and a touch of chorus.

Tom,
I am a Rickenbacker playing teacher in the U.K. Why aren't you revising?! I bought a second hand Rickenbacker 360 6 string, black like Peter Buck's for £500 from the small ads in Guitarist mag. You might have to travel to find a bargain. I have seen solid bodied Ricks for around £400. Check out LOOT, it has a searchable website. They are wonderful guitars, I had to wait until I was 32 before I could afford one after a ton of cheap guitars. Happy hunting and good luck with the exams.
