I found a good image of MM with his Sonus Hyperbass on PBase. Just measuring off the image, the scale length was 150 mm and the length of the fingerboard was 133 mm. So the fingerboard is 0.886 of the scale length. That should be compared with the three octave ratio of 7/8 = 0.875. So it looks like there is less than 1/8 of the scale length between the end of the fingerboard and the bridge. That would suggest Michael is correct. I could be out by a few mm but even if I was, 18/150 is still less than 1/8th.
