Finally Got It Back

Post by NFB-418 »

My guitar tech had my 4003 for a little over 2 weeks (torture) and I got it back today with a RIHS and new bridge saddles installed, plus he did a full seasonal set up. I gave it the Zymol treatment and voila!

Thanks, Paul. And, yes sir, I'm in Milwaukee.

Do you know we're going to have a "confluence" (meeting and display of Rickenbacker collectors) June 11 and 12? I've put together an e-mail list of possible attendees, so if you e-mail me, I'll get you on the list: pboyer2 AT wi.rr DOT com (replace the usual). And welcome!

Great, Wes! Just e-mail me also (address above) and I'll put you on the e-mail list. There's also a tread in the Confluences section here.

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Yes, I think I read about it on the forum a while ago. Unfortunately my wife is expecting our first child in May and I'm not sure if I'm going to be leaving the house for a few months. I'd love to attend, but I'll have to play it by ear.

Played for about 2 1/2 hours last night. To my ear, the RIHS has a fatter, tighter and more well-rounded tone than a Hi-Gain, while still maintaining punch and bounce. There's also a lot of warmth coming from that pickup. I'm really enjoying my bass even more than before!

SWEEEEET!!!

Enjoy it! I really like the sound of the horseshoe on my 4001C64. I think I'm keeping the hi-gains on my 4003 for the tonal diversity. Enough horseshoe exposure and I might change my mind, though!

Not that would be something to see - I've seen playing by teeth....
