Great heads up on that one...hope to catch it myself. But get quirky PBS showings here.

Great show. Saw it last night. lots of interesting interviews with some of the artists featured in the jukebox such as John Sebastian, The Isley Brothers and Leiber and Stoller. You can see where the lads copped a lick or two! Great stuff.

It was a fantastic show...cool stuff like seeing Lennon's own handwriting on the jukebox (misspelling Otis Redding as "Ottis"!)

Also, for all of you Stax folks out there, the PBS show P.O.V. played the "Wattstax" concert from 1972 last night. A re-broadcast is scheduled for tomorrow night.
Albert King, The Bar Kays, Rufus & Carla Thomas, Isaac Hayes, Johnnie Taylor - good good stuff!

Seems the Stax band (Booker T) in their '65 clip was playing very early Marshalls.

I keeping with the spirit of this threat, I am reminded that 33 years ago today "Imagine" hit the airwaves. A timeless classic that revelas that sometimes the simplest productions are the best. I wonder what his inspiration was for this one?
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I still remember getting that 45 with the funkiest of Apple labels on it. B/W "It's So Hard and a great King Curtis sax solo. Oh hell, now you've made me want to listen to the whole damn album(CD). Here's a scan of the B side.
Cheers,
Bill
